Course Requirements:
The following events are REQUIRED for this course:

1.) Three concerts (12/16, 2/24, 5/13). Students report to the band room at 7:00 pm for concerts. Students are expected to stay for the full length of each concert.

2.) NYSSMA Majors perfomance. Date T. B. A. (Usually in May)

Dress for any concert is:
Ladies: dark dress, light blouse, dark shoes (pants permitted)
Gentlemen: dark pants, light shirt, tie, and dark shoes

An unexcused absence for any of the above events will result in a grade of zero for that event/ performance. That grade will be averaged into your overall participation grade for the quarter. If you know that you will not be able to participate in a required event/ performance, please provide a written note to Mr. Horner from a parent or guardian. The note should be written in advance (unless you are ill on the day of the performance) with reasons why you are unable to attend. If you are unable to attend a performance due to illness, provide a note on the next day that you attend school that explains the illness. (See Grading Procedures)
